I was motivated to find a better job because I felt that I could do more than what my current job offered me. I felt this dissatisfaction when I returned home each day after spending most of my day at the office, without being truly satisfied with the work accomplished during that time. I felt stuck, not knowing what to do to get out of that situation and gain more responsibilities and more intense professional opportunities.
In the early stages of the process of finding a better job, I then went to do some research online to learn more about positions that matched my skills and personal aptitudes, and therefore potentially receive offers tailored to my specific needs. After a few weeks of investigation, it became clear that I would need to leave my current job if I wanted to achieve my full professional aspirations. Furthermore, having recently graduated with honors; this motivated me even more to move on to the next steps in order to start my professional career based on solid academic knowledge coupled with significant practical experience gained during my previous role.

How I proceeded to find a new job?
Finding a new job when you are already in a permanent contract can be a daunting task, which is why it is important to know how to proceed. Follow these steps to find the best possible job in your current situation.
First, before starting to look for a new job, I took the time to reflect on the careers that interested me and the kind of professional environment I was looking for. I spent time researching different positions related to my aspirations to better understand what they involved and whether my profile could match the demands posed by companies for certain positions. Once I had identified several possible avenues through my research, I focused on creating an updated CV, including relevant information related to the work accomplished as well as my current and future areas of expertise. I then used this document as the main tool when applying to companies that met my criteria.
I didn’t see the point in wasting my time, so I concentrated on platforms specifically dedicated to available offers (Recruiters…).
How did my employer react to my decision?
Finding a better job while you are in a permanent contract can be an intimidating process. However, it is entirely possible to navigate it with the right strategy and a professional demeanor. When I decided to look for another, more interesting job, I made sure to be honest and respectful with my current employer.
I knew that informing my boss was necessary to show my gratitude for the time spent with them and to avoid any future conflicts. As soon as I found an offer that truly interested me, I felt ready to discuss this potential change with my employer. I chose to do this via email to have a permanent written record in case we needed to go to court or if circumstances changed in the meantime (for example: contract dissolution).
Therefore, before sending the email to my employer, I sent him a formal letter explaining my personal and professional reasons behind this difficult but mature decision; piquing his curiosity about some aspects not mentioned in the initial letter but without going too deep to avoid complicating things unnecessarily. After sending him my letter by email, I awaited his response calmly and confidently – knowing full well that whatever he said or did, nothing would change my initial goals.
What results did I achieve?
Finding a better job while I was already working in a permanent contract was no easy task. It truly required patience, effort, and perseverance. Once my search was underway, I of course took the time to examine opportunities that could match my skills and professional experience to identify those with which I could achieve a higher salary level.
Once this selection was made, I began my campaign to find a position that met the chosen criteria. I started by directly contacting companies that might be looking for a candidate with the type of experience they needed and then initiated a complete application process for that specific position.
To demonstrate my value and interest in the proposed position to potential employers, I refreshed or updated my CV since I needed to provide a complete version of the document containing all my university degrees or other certifications obtained after my initial degree; as well as information about internships or additional missions I had participated in over the previous years. I carefully modified each section of the CV to ensure it accurately represented my current professional profile and fully reflected my expertise gained since completing my higher education.
